Matrox RT.X2 and Windows 7
You have a Matrox RT.X2 editing card on a Windows 7 System and you can´t install the mx tools and drivers 4.1.0 because the software tells you “you must have installed Vista or XP” ? Here is the solution to make it work.
You have to do the following steps.
- right click on the install starter for the mx tools RtxSetup.exe / Settings / Compatibility
- next steps you find on this screenshot 
(done in german version)
After you have change this settings hit apply and ok. that´s it !
Now try again to install and you will see it works.

Das war es, hätte sonst die teure Hard- und Software in absehbarer Zeit nicht nutzen können. Vielen Dank! Andererseits ein Unding, dass Matrox als Profi-Anbieter seine Kunden mit einem Update so lange hängen lässt.

Für alle, bei denen es sich noch nicht herumgesprochen hat. Matrox bietet mit RT.X2, Ver. 4.2 endlich die Kompabilität mit Windows 7 64bit. Als Plugin von Premiere CS4 vorgeschrieben, arbeitet es allerdings auch mit After Effects CS3 zusammen. WYSIWYG-Plugin stürzt bei Photoshop CS3 ab.
I’m pretty much impressed with the stability of Windows 7. It is better than windows Vista which hogs my memory and cpu.
