Some facts about my Edit because some people ask me how i made this.

i´ve shot several clips. the complete footage is ca. 1h15min long. i grabed all the footage in aftereffects in a sequence. then i precomposed the composition and set the timescale to 2%. than i rendered it out.  no color correction and no special cuts are on the final clip. all flicker an moves i´ve created simply by panning and tilt my tripot and for the flicker i played around with my fader nd filter. for the sound editing i searched on freemusicarchive.org for the right music. then i edit these 3 music tracks without the video in premiere pro. after that i put the videoclip over the sound and than i made the title sequence. title sequence is simply made by animate the scale and a animation of the directional blur effect. that was it. i´ve tried to keep it simple as possible and for me it looks great.

this is a test to use the canon 7d as an electronic telescope to watch into space. the lens that i used in this test was the canon zoom lens EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III

i conected the camera via HDMI on my 28″ Full HD screen to preview in liveview mode.
it works realy good and you have the choice to capture what you see with the 7d – video or photo.

ja auch scheitern muss man mal ! da hat man mal ne absolut fantastisch klare nacht ! absolut fantastischer mond mit sichel und venus alles drum und dran. man stellt die cam auf um davon einen zeitraffer zu machen und schwubbs – da war die cam aus. und warum ? na weil die akkus sowieso immer im falschen moment leer sind :/ ! aber es ist dann eben schön wenn einer aus der twitternden dslr gang das selbe vor hatte und aber an wolken scheitert ! effektive ausbeute von uns beiden – ca. 2 einhalb sekunden zeitraffer !

i slow the whole final edit down to 85% of the original speed. this also transposed down the music. so it comes in a more dramatic look and feel i think.

this is only a test to try out making timelapse videos. made this with my canon eos 7d an the timer remote control TC-80N3. i´ve made one from day to night and another one from night to day. but it was very cloudy wether. working on to make better timlapse videos in future. it really makes fun to see our world in timelapse and there are so many posibilities to do these shots.

In this short Tutorial i will show you how to simply and fast preview your 720p 50 or 60 fps shots in slow motion from your Canon 7D or other file based cameras they capture video on this framerates without any transcoding or playback in your editing software. There is a simple method within the VLC-Player. You can download the VLC player for free from videolan.org – simply download and install the player. I think it´s one of the best player for video playback out there and it´s for FREE.

Start the VLC player and open your 720p footage clip.

Then go to playback in the top menue and click on “slower (fine)” in the dropdown menue.

You will see in the right corner of your video window the info of how times playback the video slower.

Make these steps as long to 0.50x (means half speed playback). That´s it. It´s an realy cool little feature that i use often to preview my high framerate footage in slow motion.
